WHAT IS CIRCULAR ECONOMY ?

A circular economy provides an alternative to a traditional linear economy, in which resources retain long-lived value within the economy system, by being designed for longer lifetimes, repair, post-use recovery, reuse and reprocessing.

NOTHING IS MORE PERMANENT THAN CHANGE

What is the Circular Office? The circular office applies the principles of the circular economy to the workplace. The office is home to a vast range of resources, from the fabric of the building (ceiling tiles, plasterboard, glass, etc.), to the fittings and furnishings (carpets, desks, chairs, IT equipment, etc.). As many as possible existing materials, are to be reused in the office fit-out.

DESIGN PRODUCT FOR CHANGE IS MAKING BUILDING ADAPTABLE

Design for flexibility Aim To balance the needs of the present with how those needs will change in the future and to enable change through frequent reconfiguring including reconfiguration of non-structural parts – configurations are likely not to involve ‘wet trades’ or any waste.

DECONSTRUCTION  AND WASTE

Until now, our global economy has largely depended on a linear ‘take-make-use-dispose’ system in which valuable natural resources are extracted, turned into products and then discarded at the end of their service life. What a waste !

BY MAKING BUILDING COMPONENTS REUSABLE THEIR VALUE CAN BE MAINTAINED

A Circular Office should be able to adapt to the evolving needs of your business and to change its function in the future, requiring as few products and materials as possible for the required changes and creating as little waste as possible. For this, partitions, ceilings and floors need to be deconstructable and reconfigurable.

Our Story

Today, of the 92.8 billion tonnes of minerals, fossil fuels, metals and biomass that enter the global economy, only 9% is circular, i.e. re-used annually. The Construction and Demolition waste account 25-30% of all waste arising in the EU.

Offices constantly need to readapt to organisation changes or to a new tenant. Workplaces are a living ecosystem where moving easily is key for staff wellbeing and economic growth. However current office fitting out practices have waste built into the design. This is especially apparent where standard material sizes are used, for example sheet materials and traditional masonry. Office refurbishment is costly, noisy, indoor pollution is high and finished products represent a large part of the construction waste. By designing workplaces with products that are designed to move and adapt we can easily avoid this significant amount of waste.

Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Circular Impact was born out of the passion from Paul LEVY to build wiser without jeopardizing our children’s future on a planet that we love. He felt the constant evolving trend in workplaces and organisations call for a global interior solution that ensures high-quality products are used to the fullest potential before becoming waste.

Therefore he decided to partner with  European manufacturers and to deliver Interior products options that won’t negatively impact your office move nor your wallet. These brands share the same vision as we do, and with a Circular Impact subscription you can enjoy  to purchase from our Circular Products selection to make your workplace ready for the Move at the best price.
